I just was diagnosed recently with lupus and the first things I have done is eliminate all dairy except yoghert and cultured dairies (buttermilk should be ok, kefir, etc). I noticed a bad flare after having pizza so I blamed the cheese/saturated fats. I've been taking ginger and turmeric drops for the inflamtion.

I've also been seeing a chiropractor and an acupuncturist with good results. The swelling in my hands is almost gone and my knees/legs only bother me after 11pm and first thing in the morning. I rarely take a painkiller mostly because ibuprofen stopped working pretty early on for me. I'm not taking anything prescribed from the rheumatologist or my internist.

Thank you for visiting...Are you attending any lupus support groups?

I haven't really looked yet for any... I've been cruising the webmd board a little this past week. I'm not sure if there are any support groups in my area (South Bend Indiana). My Rhematologist is very much not helpful for providing any sort of information.

My doctor (at the arthritis & Ostereoperosis center is pushing going to the gym. Just as the entry says that walking alone doesn't do it (unless I do 80 miles a day or something)>
